Objective
To create a healthy national-level competition that encourages industries to continuously improve boiler performance while promoting safety and efficiency across India.
2026 marks a milestone year: BBUA is expanding from a state-based competition to a national-level award, with participation invited from industries across India, evaluation by a National Jury, and recognition on the international stage at Boiler India 2026.

Eligibility
- Industrial units operating IBR-registered boilers in India.
- Units in operation for at least 3 consecutive years.
- Compliance with applicable statutory safety and environmental regulations.
- No major reportable safety incidents in the preceding 12 months.

Captive Co-Generation
Steel, Cement, Chemical & Petroleum, Distilleries.
Sugar
For sugar industry boiler operations.
Pharma / Chemical / Dairy / Hotels & Food
For pharma, chemical, dairy, and hotels & food industry units.
Textile / Edible Oil / Paper / Ordnance / Distilleries / Animal Feed / AAC Block
For textile process houses and allied small process industries.

At least 4 colour photographs of housekeeping/cleanliness around the boiler house are mandatory, plus any other supporting documents you wish to submit, as listed in the application form.
No, the category cannot be changed once an application is created, unless reset by the award administrator.
Top-scoring applications in each category advance to a site verification round conducted by industry-expert jury members. There are three prizes in each category, distributed on 10th October 2026 during the Boiler India 2026 concluding ceremony. The jury's decision is final and binding.
